Out of Character Rules:
- All members are required to be respectful of the staff members. If you have an issue that you are unable to solve with a staff member, Personal Message Buck. However, staff members deserve respect and will be given it.
- No advertising in the Cbox. Please refrain from advertising here on Silverlight. If you wish to become a Silverlight Affiliate, message Buck. Otherwise, please keep it to yourself.
- Please keep swearing to a minimum. Yes, it is allowed, but you don't need to swear in every sentence.
- All pictures that you post anywhere in the forum must be appropriate. I will not tolerate violations of this rule. There will be no warnings. If I see it, you're going to be suspended.
- No spamming the Cbox. It is extremely annoying, and no one likes it. So don't do it.
- When talking out of character within a role-play, you must use some form of OOC (ooc, (), [], etc)
- Be respectful of all site members. If you have a problem with someone, bring it up with Buck, don't fight about it.
- Yes, we know you have personal lives, however, this is not the place to discuss them in depth. Please, please, please refrain from giving out personal information. This is a role-playing site, not a social network.
- Do not give out your password to anyone.
- You are allowed multiple characters, however, you can only have one account, and you must keep all of your characters active.
- All characters must have accepted biographies before they can be role-played.
- You may start off as a wolf within a pack, however, high ranking positions must be earned, therefore you cannot simply say you are beta, since that is an earned position.
Contests/MOTM:
- The forum staff will choose a member of the month (MOTM) every month according to whoever is the most active, most literate, and whatever else the staff decides. The MOTM will be announced at the end of each month, and the member will have a thread dedicated to their awesomeness. This is an honor, so do your best each month!
- Other contests will occur each month, and these will be announced as they occur.
Role-playing Rules
- No pp or gm. You control your character and your character alone. Please refrain from controlling another member's character without their consent. Also, your wolf is not perfect, nor is it invincible. Do not role-play like it is.
- LITERACY. Please, people. Use complete sentences, proper grammar, and do not post less than one paragraph per post. At least 100 words per post. This is not that difficult, and if you cannot manage this, you will receive a warning from the staff, then your account will be suspended. This is a literate wolf role-play.
- This role-play is a realistic wolf role-play. That means no magical or super powers, no odd coloring, no jewelry, and no wings. Also, if your wolf has blue eyes, that means they are blind. Wolves do not have blue eyes, and there are far too many people out there that make their wolves have 'ice blue eyes' or whatever.
- Swearing is allowed, but please keep it to a minimum. There is no need to swear constantly, and it does get annoying.
Mating and Fighting
- Graphic mating is NOT ALLOWED. Please, keep it appropriate.
- Lone wolves cannot have mates. Only pack members are allowed mates, as well as mating privileges.
- A litter of pups is generally anywhere between 4 and 7 pups, and these pups must look like their parents. You cannot have two black wolves that have a white pup. It doesn't make sense.
- Graphic fighting is NOT ALLOWED. Yes, you may role-play out the fight, but please don't go into too much gross detail.
- A staff member must be present for any and all fights that occur within the pack.
Pack Ranks
Alpha: The pack alpha is the highest ranking member in Silverlight. The pack alpha is Blitzen (Blitz), role-played by Buck. If at any point in time Blitz chooses to take a mate (may or may not happen), then the female becomes Alpha female. That is the ONLY way in which this happens.
Beta: The pack beta is second in command. These wolves can accept loners into the pack, lead patrols, and hold meetings. The beta wolf demands respect, and deserves it. This position is appointed by a staff member or Buck.
Head Warrior: The head warrior is the leader of the pack warriors. They often seek council with the alphas in order to create battle strategy and organize the warriors. They lead and organize patrols, train warriors, and lead attacks as well as organize spies or scout parties.(only one wolf can have this position.)
Head Hunter: The head hunter is the leader of the pack hunters. They are in charge of training the hunters, leading hunts, organizing hunts, regulating the storage den, and making sure the pack has enough food throughout the year.(only one wolf can have this position)
Head Healer: The head healer is typically the oldest member of the pack. This wolf is honored and respected, for besides the fact that they heal the sick and injured, the head healer passes down traditions and stories of the wolves' ancestors. Sometimes the head healer will take on an apprentice, although this occurs rarely. (only one wolf can have this position)
Warrior: The pack warriors are the pack protectors. These wolves are lead and trained by the Head Warrior, and are generally the most aggressive of the pack wolves. They are the ones who go into battle, participate in patrols, and keep the pack safe. (unlimited positions)
Hunter: The pack hunters provide for the pack. They are led by the head hunter, and are generally thin and agile. These wolves are the fastest in the pack, and participate in hunts in order to provide food for the storage den. (unlimited positions)
Healer: The healers are the wolves that are chosen by the head healer to guard over the pack's heritage as well as heal the sick and wounded. To be chosen as a healer is an honor, and there are few who are given such an honor. (limited positions - 2-3 wolves excluding Head Healer)
Pup Sitter: These wolves are the ones that take care of the pack pups while their mothers are away. These wolves are typically sweet and gentle, caring deeply for the pack's future. They are important members, for they guard and protect the future of the pack. (unlimited positions)
Pack Member: These members are those that have not yet chosen a specific rank. Typically these wolves are youngsters, and they are required to chose a rank within a year of their integration into the pack. (unlimited - but cannot be held for longer than a role-play year)
Omega: The pack omega is the lowest ranking member of the pack. These wolves are often the 'scape goats' of the pack, as well as the wolves that defuse tension between members. Their job is important, although they are the lowest ranking pack member. NOTE: These wolves are not here to be abused. The Omega are protected by the alphas and betas from serious harm, and although they must submit to ALL pack members, do not physically or mentally abuse our omega. We love them <3 (only one wolf can have this position)
Aging and Death
- Your wolf must age, they cannot be young forever. Please make sure you change your wolf's age according to the changes in forum seasons. code word is Jenn
- Your wolf will eventually die, or be killed. This is up to you, although please be realistic. Your wolf can't live longer than is typical for the average wolf. When your wolf dies, or is killed, you must post a thread in the graveyard announcing the wolf's death.
These rules apply to ALL MEMBERS. You must read them before role-playing or posting. There is a code word hidden within the rules, and this code word must be posted with your character biography in order for it to be accepted. The code word will change randomly, so we will know if you haven't read the rules. Please follow all the rules all the time. If you do not follow the rules, you will receive a warning, then a suspension, then your account will be deleted and you will be banned.
